i should be writing on this more often but its a little hard... iv been doing so much lately that i dont know where to start :)

things are going well here in general... everything has settled down and im in a good routine happening... working and going to gym twice a week and getting trolleyd on the weekends :) ha! had a few nites out with the boy and all his mates... all the picies are on facebook! wish i could figure out how to upload heaps of pics onto this blog...

ok... so iv been working for the last two weeks as a receptionist for a property development company.. its ok.. nothing that really requires too many brain cells! I have an interview tomorrow for a more permanent position as a pa/office manager for the MD of an engineering company... he's an aussie guy - classic sense of humor! really hope i get it but dont wana have 2 much riding on it incase not.. so wish me luck!

This weekend just gone - Michael, Hoppy (flatmate), Tau, Gus, Jo (all kiwi's!!) and I went to Poland! It was amazing!! We all met at Clapham Junction overground station and caught the train to Gatwick airport (south london) checked in, had maca's (hehe) and flew on Wizz Air to Katowice in Poland!! We arrived, two hours later tired and hungry (well i was hungry anyways!!) and got a bus transfer to Kraków which was over an hour... this Canadian guy on our bus knew polish so showed us where to go to get to our hostel! we stumbled through the city square at 2 degree temperature and finally arrived at "mama's hostel". checked in etc etc had a look around it was awsome!
such a wicked hostel!! just a little baby one with less then 10 rooms! we all dumped our stuff and crashed out on the bunk beds!

woke up on sat after minimal sleep - well i slept like a baby but apparently tau was snoring all night n kept the others awake , mike had 1 hour sleep (ouch!!) up n dressed n went n had a little look around the square, jumped on the bus and headed off to Auschwitz Birkenau! The bus took about an hour, we watched a movie made by a cameraman in WWII... we arrived at Auschwitz I - which has been turned into a museum... we spent about an hour and a half touring that..

as we walked in we walked under the gates with the quote 'Arbeit Macht Fret' - Work Makes Freedom! U could feel the irony in ur bones as you walked through it...

we were shown the famous death wall, where the prisoners where lined up and shot - its like triple re-in forced.. the original one was ruined after liberation of the camp, this one was just the replica... we saw the rooms where the officers who ran the camp lived, uniforms worn, etc - it was insane looking into the rooms - the doors have this glass on them and its like looking in a time warp everything is exactly how it would have been back then! we saw the underground tunnels which were really freaky to be in... the torture rooms, starvation rooms, suffocation rooms - the little 1.4m square cells where the would lock people in overnight - making them stand all night against each other and then work all day - the longest any1 lasted was 20 sleepless nights standing up... its amazing what the human body can endure... We saw thousand of shoes, clothes, suitcases, 2 TONNES of human hair, toothbrushes, glasses etc - everything that the Germans took from the prisoners and stored in camp.. it all made it so real to see all these items! There were so many things that we saw and i wish i could write about them all but i would be here all day!

We then boarded the bus and went to AuschwitzII - which is the big camp in which 100,000 people lived in at a time!! Its km's long and wide and just stretched on in every direction as far as you could see... it really made u feel like thats what the whole world looked like when you were there... we had a small tour there and found out that the buidings which housed the prisoners where originally horse stables, built for like 35 horses.. they kept 1,000 people in each! it was 8 to a bunk, 3 levels of bunks that either had a thin crap mattress or just plain wood.. the rats were really bad and would try and eat the people who lived on the bottom bunks... just horrific!!

i know it may sound silly but when we walked into the underground chambers and the buildings where they lived and died - it honestly felt so so much colder! it was like too much had gone on in these places, too much pain and sadness had occurred for them to every be warmed again...

i think the most horrific and saddening thing about the whole experience was how calculated, organised and proficient the whole running of the camp was... i guess its why over 1 million people were able to be killed there during the war!

Bused back to Kraków, and sat around the hostel for a while... we were all a bit down n out after the days events... got up n dressed and went n had sum drinks at this little polish pub - all the pubs are underground little bunkers - so so cool! honey vodka - the polish specialty.. wow wow wow!! yum yum yum!!! we ended up going to heaps of bars and clubs - hip hop one called RESPECT, club called PROZAC (in the pic) - found a sweet little kebab shop that we went back to again later when we were dieseled haha drinks were soooo cheap! we were doing rounds of 6 cocktails each for £15 a round! fantastic!! so we all got reasonable smashed and crashed in the wee hours of the morning!!!

woke up on sunday - in hell... up n out of the hostel, jo n gus went n had sum time 2getha n checked out the royal castle, me and the boys went n had breaky at this place in the square - the location amazing! the sun was out and i even took off my huge jacket! the food however - terrible! the girl stuffed up all our orders, forgot drinks etc etc.. we bailed from there and caught a tuk-tuk to the shopping mall, laaaaaazy!! so worth it tho! haha the boys did a bit of shopping- i was a good girl and spent nothing!! the train station was next door so at 2.20pm we boarded the train... two hours on that, we jumped off - bolted outside and just made the bus (after sum translation help) for an hour more to get us to Katowice airport... (we booked the shuttle bus for only 1 way NOT return - it was so silly!!)

got to the airport, ate sum more, checked in, boarded, had another 2 hour flight, train back from airport to junction, as bus home... so we basically did about 8 hours of traveling and transfers...
got home and crashed out!!

anyways i have 4 meetings at 3pm have to set up for here in the office so i better fly - hope this wasnt too long and boring!

promise ill write less words, and more often :)

much love from the little aussie battler, oops no sorry the little aussie traveller :)

okie dokie..

every1's else's blogs seem to b so profound - mine seems to be allot of whining... so while I shall not be deleting my previous blogs - im going to try and stop whining from now on! thats wat my journal is for :)

currently im sittin at home, just had a visit from the Zimbabwean landlord – rather strange he came into the house and went into the back garden and took a spade and watering can, told me I was mad for leaving the aussie sun for this and then walked out again…

ok… nice to know im not the only crazy person in London :) had a craaaazy nite on the alcohol with Michelle Wilson on Saturday, little girl called catty’s older sister from back home! Was great fun, celebrated her friend Jackie’s 24th bday at home… home at 5am, had to wake the boy (were still sharing keys) makes up for the times he wakes me up when he gets home so late from work im sleeping!!

Had an interview today with a travel recruitment agency… things r run a bit different over here you don’t just apply for jobs on ur own u have to go through agencies… a wise man once said that they are like used car salesman.. and im defiantly getin that vibe.. put my foot in a few times but all in all went well…

Had to answer this questionnaire on Europe, ie wat I knew and wat I don’t – which turned out to be a lot!! Things like, which country is the **** river, or what is the capital of France/Croatia/Greece/Sweden/Norway/100 other bloody countries… and where which country would you send a family on holiday, or a stag party too, or a young lively couple… Im like HELLO!? If a person calls ME as the agent n says I have too much money and no clue where I want to go id say – right, give me some of that money and ill send u to aussie, best dam country in the world u can find ur own fun J ha… don’t think that would go down too well tho…

Off to Sweden this weekend for a 3 day trip to visit anna-banana – YAY!! So exiting can’t wait! Goona b a bit colder then London I imagine… o well I can handle it!! Ill have too!!

Anyways… off now strap on the old Martha Stewart gloves and clean the house up!!

Love n kisses from London to u all xxx

ps. mumma - we have flowering dafadils in the backyard - will take a pic and blog it :) xxx

another day...

well its cold outside and its not summer anymore... well its summer at home, unfortunatley not here at my new home...

things have been bounding along, out of my control as usual... all i want is the days to stop so that i can grab ahold of things here, namely myself, however that doesnt seem to be happening... guess ill have to figure out a way to do it without changing time....

finally have my resume all done - quite proud of it actually... michael and i did it yesterday in bed... something is wrong with the central heating in this house and it feels like im living in an igloo... i have just been reading a book by jodie picult called the tenth circle - they are in alaska, ie my living room... waitangi day hit london on saturday with the usual crazy kiwi style - 12,000 drunk charging kiwi's (n a few aussies to boot) went drinkin on around the circle tube line in london... there are 2 many people for the amount of pubs, so the majority just drink out on the street... it was insane... i spent most of the day either lining up for more alcohol at off-licences or looking for/in line for a toilet... i got yelled at my some worker of westminster abbey to get out of the garden that this was not a public toilet and not to get any ideas... i honestly was not trying to go there i was just searchign in vain for a port-a-loo in the westminster abbey grounds...

few of the boys mates decided to come over at 4am and cook eggs... one in parcticular decided he would be different and cook the eggs on the kitched floor, or on the chest of his mate - neither worked and the egg in still residing in my kitchen... was GOING to clean 2day but the hot water n central heatin are not workin so am forced to bundle up in tights and trackies and socks and more socks and uggies and thermals and jumpers and hoodies and a scarf - ie. like im taking a trip to alaska...

sent off my resume to 4 or 5 places today... no idea wat there about really - but said i was keen in the email anyways... dont really care wat i do as long as it doesnt involve sitting in this house any longer!! its my own doing i know, i need to motivate myself and get cracking, but its so hard 2 get motivated when ur so cold u feel like the blood may freeze in ur veins if you move an inch and let the cold in after youv spent a whole day positioning yourself in bed so that you kept it out...

perhaps iv been reading too many depressing books and need to get over myself. im in europe for gods sake - somethin that iv only dreamt about since i was a little girl...

ill get here eventually, i think my mind is finally starting to realise where it is - attatched to this body on the otherside of the world from home....

o well, better to realise that late then never i spose :)

missing you all!! as you can see, im still as crazy as ever...

love you xxxx

New Year - New Country - New LIFE!!

well well well...

im currently sitting here in a place called Clapham Common - possible spelt wrong, in london... FINALLY!! its been an insane new year so far...

spent some time up at the parents for a few weeks, little miss sugs and an exchange student from vietnam came n crashed for a week :P spent lots of time with ads n saw old friends and did the big boodbye's! back 2 syders for the mad 12hour drinking binge with my best mates! then a plane ride to thailand with mum - that was in a world, hell... 3hours sleep and still drunk do not equal a nice comfy ride out of the country...

thailand was awsome! bangkok the first couple of days was intense - its like sydney on ice! iv never seen or been in anything like it... i got pretty sick from all the pollution and the air-con everywhere... i got a freaking cold in thailand! only me!! then we hit Koh-Chang... amazing!!

4 days of elephant trecking, snorkling off islands, relaxing, massages, shopping, dinners out oh and thai whisky - woot woot! bring me a capriana anytime baby!! we flew back 2 bangkok n did a bit more shopping, hit this massive big 10thousand people nite market bazar thing - again, so intense!!

friday the 25th packed my bags and said bye to mummy at the airport - so so hard... got on the thai airways plane all alone and slept pretty much the whole way to london as i had three seats to myself (mum says thatd thanks 2 the holy water we got sprinkled on us in the temple in bangkok but i dunno.....)

arrived at the airport, collected bags n went through customs/immigration etc and then like magic *poof* there was michael :) ok so maybe not so magic as it was pre organised but still :P came home and saw marky mark too!! met other crazy kiwi flatmates! on sat the boy took me around london for a wee bit... saw big ben and the london eye and the river and Westminster abbey? something like that... my head was still spinning from the realisation that i was actually in london and i didnt have a proper jacket so we went home!

good old sharpy n his flatie came over, so them 2, marky, michael n me went 2 um... somewhere... clapham junction? anyways we met up with flemming and rachael and her mate lib - aaaaaahh trip down memory lane!! it was so weird cuz i remember saying bye to them one at a time over the last year and then there they all were infront of me.... we had a few drinks at an old man pub and then went next door 2 the slug and had a few more... then we went out to sum other place that required a substantial bustrip... many many aussies out that did me proud with their total drunken behaviour :) more drinks, then we hit a walkabout in shepards bush?? stayed for a wee bit, met wat seemed 2 b hundreds of kiwi's (the boys mates) but infact only seem 2 b a wee portion of the total friends group..... *sigh* so many nnew names to remember!!

caught another lengthy bus trip and had my 1st maca's in london... they have a weird nite menu and wont serve single cheeseburgers... not sure how i feel about this, but on the plus side they had this awsome deal of 20 nuggets for like £5 - how exiting! TINE YOU AND I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN HEAVEN :)

um... yesterday the boy had 2 go into the office... on a sunday... poo... happens when you are in an 'important job' or so i imagine... every1 is at work 2day from the house, hence why i left...

london tv is er, interesting... i just cant take them seriosuly with their accents.. i cleaned the house for about 3hours.., kitchen lounge, bathroom... and unpacked my bags a bit!! need 2 hit the supermarket now actually for more supplies... brought a jug yesterday so u can have cups of tea - thats my housewarming present :) ahaahahaha

well i beta head home... i have food shoppin 2 do - i have 2 pick sumthing and cook it for dinner... so this may well be my last ever blog as i may kill michael n i 2nite with my lack-of-cooking skills....

take care - miss you ALL!!

love the little aussie adventurer :)
